Refund Processing Times

Refund times vary depending on your payment method and your bank. This guide explains exactly how long each type of refund takes, why some refunds appear instantly while others take days, and what to expect on your statement.

1. Card Refunds (Stripe) — 3 to 10 Business Days

Refunds issued to credit or debit cards take longer because banks must manually process the return.

Typical timing:

  • 3–5 business days: most banks

  • 5–10 business days: international banks or slower issuers

Important notes:

  • Some banks only show the refund on the next monthly statement

  • Some banks simply remove the original charge instead of showing a credit

  • Timing depends 100% on your bank — not on Overpowered.gg or Stripe

This applies to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Maestro, etc.

2. Apple Pay & Google Pay Refunds

Apple Pay and Google Pay follow the timing of the card linked to your wallet.

Meaning:

  • If your wallet uses a Visa → refund timing follows Visa rules

  • If it uses Mastercard → Mastercard rules

The wallet itself doesn’t speed up or delay the refund.

3. Crypto Refunds (Coinbase Commerce)

Crypto refunds depend on blockchain network speed.

Typical timing:

  • 5–60 minutes

  • Longer during congestion or slow confirmations

Refunds are always sent in crypto, not fiat, and returned to the wallet address you provide or the original one (depending on the case).

4. PIX Refunds (Brazil) — Usually Instant

PIX refunds are the fastest.

Typical timing:

  • Instant for most banks

  • Up to a few minutes in rare cases

  • Up to 1 hour during maintenance windows or bank delays

Refunds always go back to the same account used for the original PIX payment.

5. Why some refunds don’t appear immediately

Common reasons include:

  • Bank delay in confirming the return

  • Weekends or holidays

  • Banks that only update statements once a day

  • Banks that only show refunds on the next monthly billing cycle

  • Refund shown as “removal of the original charge” instead of a new credit

All of this is normal and depends entirely on the bank.

6. How to check if your refund was issued

You will receive a confirmation email from Overpowered.gg or from the payment provider.

Once the refund is sent, any remaining delay is on your bank’s side.
